PROJECT WINTER SURVIVAL 2021

COVID-19 has heightened an already critical situation on our streets and in our shelters and we will do whatever we can to assist our vulnerable citizens. The Project Winter Survival Team were able to safely adapt our event model and, with the help of our partner community, will be distributing kits and sleeping bags throughout the month of January 2021. Due to an unprecedented demand, we are no longer accepting applications for the 2021 program.

Engage and Change is a charity that was created to foster good citizenship and encourage healthy communities by giving back. Engage and Change gives people and companies the opportunities to do hands on group volunteer projects that assemble and build kits to assist in the alleviation of poverty. These kits are then distributed to the local communities through social service agencies directly to those in need.

The clients really loved the kits - they will help us build stronger relationships with people on the streets going forward (and give people much needed items!) Same with the water! Actually the kit allowed me to connect with the one gentlemen who was so upset and now I will be assisting him going forward. As you could see, some people just need to tell their story and receive some sign that others care. Thank you :)
